The first regional consultations in Burgas on the future of the Interreg programmes in the cross-border region between Bulgaria and Türkiye for the 2028-2034 period will take place on 26 March. The event is jointly organized by the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works of Bulgaria and the Directorate for EU Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye. During the meeting, stakeholders will have the opportunity to engage in a discussion with the participation of the European Commission aimed at identifying key territorial needs, untapped potential and priority areas for cross-border cooperation in the next programming period. The idea of the consultations is to gather opinions, experiences and proposals from representatives of local and regional authorities, institutions, non-governmental organisations, businesses, academia and other stakeholders to contribute to the development of the future Interreg Bulgaria-Türkiye programme.
