Objectives:

CULTHRA aims to  establish a sustainable and attractive Cross-Border cultural destination of BG and TR, responding to the global tourism trends. This will be achieved by integrating more than 10 cultural house-museums in one cultural destination, by renovating 2 important cultural monuments in Sredec and Uzunköprü, establishing 1 new cultural center in Kırklareli, reviving ethnographical one in Elhovo. It seeks to promote experiential cultural tourism and create a branded destination.  

Project activities:

  • Soft activities: Elaboration of Marketing Strategy for successful branding and positioning, promotion of the Thracia cultural destination 
     
  • Tourism related activities: Organization of Local Training Sessions in Four Target Areas, conducting the Trial Tour with tour operators and stakeholders   
     
  • Infrastructural support to boost sustainable tourism in the cross-border:
     
    Sredec – restoration and establishment of accessible environment of “Baylovata Kashta”
     
    Elhovo – renewal of Ethnographical and archaeological museum Elhovo with interactive exposition
     
    Uzunköprü – restoration of "The Priest's House" in Uzunköprü, a cultural monument
     
    Kırklareli – establishment of a new cultural Center in Kırklareli.
