Priority 2 - Integrated Development of the Cross-border Region

Specific objective: RSO5.2. “Development of better access to services of general interest”

To promote sustainable cross-border cooperation and cultural exchange between Project partners through the preservation of historical heritage, promotion of traditional crafts and the development of craft and tradition-based tourism, while also fostering environmental awareness and cooperation of public and business organizations.  

Project activities:

• Soft activities: Research on gathering historical data about river navigation in Dimitrovgrad before 1947 and the cultural heritage of Edirne, development of a strategic document for craft tourism
   
• Tourism related activities: Cultural events "Journey of Crafts: Sailing on the Maritsa River" to showcase traditional crafts. Engaging local artists for cultural installations and bridge lighting design. Campaigns for cleaning the Maritsa River
   
• Infrastructural support to boost sustainable tourism in the cross-border region:
   
  Dimitrovgrad – repair and reconstruction of park space, emphasizing the authentic cultural values and cultural exchange between the two regions
   
  Edirne – restoration and installation of lightning installation on Saraҫhane Bridge in Edirne - historical heritage site.
