Borders may divide countries, but they do not divide nature, history, or the ideas shared by people. From the forests of Strandzha and Sakar to the Black and Aegean Seas, this is precisely what has unfolded since 2007: people and institutions from both sides have joined forces to make the region safer, greener, and more attractive.
Between April 28 and 30, 2025, the second joint training under the Strategic Project of INTERREG VI-A IPA Bulgaria- Türkiye Programme "Joining for Safer Borders" is taking place in the city of Burgas. The aim of the activity is to further enhance coordination of law enforcement authorities in the cross-border area of both countries in response to internal illegal migration, as well as to exchange experience and best practices in institutional cooperation for implementing operational activities.
The INTERREG VI-A IPA Bulgaria–Türkiye Programme has reached a key milestone in Priority 2 “Integrated Development of the Cross-Border Region” with the Monitoring Committee approval of Full Project Proposals (FPPs) under Call 1. The Managing Authority of the Interreg – IPA Cross-border Programme Bulgaria – Turkey 2014 – 2020 kindly invites you to participate in an online survey for monitoring of result indicators used to measure the achievement of the programme specific objectives. The survey will be open for all interested organizations and individuals until 30th August 2024.
The Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works launches the second phase for application with full project proposals under the Territorial Strategy of the cross-border cooperation programme between Bulgaria and Türkiye. Only pre-defined applicants with already identified concept notes can submit full project proposals under the procedure. This is a total of 27 ideas in the field of competitiveness, digitalization, labor market and tourism, divided into a main and a reserve list.
The deadline for submitting project proposals under the open call for proposals under Priority 1: “Environmentally friendly cross-border region”, Specific objective 2.1 “Promoting energy efficiency and reducing greenhouse gas emissions” and Specific objective 2.6 “Promoting the transition to a circular and resource efficient economy” has ended on March 20, 2024.
41 projects have been submitted within the deadline from SMEs, active in the Cross-border region between Bulgaria and Türkiye, divided as follows:
